What medium sudoku is like

Medium is the sweet spot for daily solvers: enough resistance to feel rewarding without ever getting stuck. The puzzle generator leaves a few "gates" where you have to look beyond a single cell — usually a pointing pair or hidden pair will crack them. Most of the grid still falls to scanning, but the gates teach you to slow down and think.

Techniques you’ll use

  • →Everything from Easy, plus:
  • →Pointing pairs: two cells in a box that share a candidate and lie in the same row or column, eliminating that digit from the rest of the row/column
  • →Hidden pairs: two digits that can only go in two cells of a unit, so those cells must hold those two digits

When to play it

Best for the daily ritual — long enough to actually engage, short enough to fit a lunch break.

Difficulty context: Twice as hard as Easy, half as hard as Hard.
